INTERN (WEB, GRAPHICS AND COMMUNICATIONSSUPPORT)

1.0 BACKGROUND
NGORA continues to strengthen its digital presence, particularly through its website and
related platforms, to improve visibility, information sharing, and stakeholder engagement.
Maintaining timely and accurate updates is therefore vital and needs dedicated staff
support. To address this, NGORA intends to engage a full-time intern to assist with
website management, visual content, and communication tasks. This role is expected to
enhance NGORA’s public profile and responsiveness to stakeholders.
2.0 PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
The internship is intended to provide practical support for updating, maintaining, and
improving NGORA’s digital platforms. The intern will help ensure information is accurate,
accessible, and visually engaging, contributing to NGORA’s goal of timely
communication, strong online visibility, and professional presentation.
3.0 REPORTING AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
a) The Intern will report directly to the ICT Officer, who will provide technical guidance.
b) The Intern will also work closely with the CEO’s Office to ensure fast, visible, and
accurate communication across all platforms.
4.0 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Intern will assist with:
a) Updating NGORA’s website and digital platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, X) with
approved content on a regular basis.
b) Designing graphics for the website, social media, reports, events, and promotional
materials.
c) Creating moving graphics (animations, GIFs, short videos) using appropriate tools.
d) Using AI-assisted design tools to improve graphics and multimedia content.
e) Applying knowledge of photography to capture and edit images for content
purposes.
f) Preparing and posting announcements, updates, and other communication
materials.
g) Ensuring all content is accurate, visually appealing, and consistent with NGORA’s
branding.
h) Responding promptly to requests from the ICT Officer and CEO’s Office.
i)
Monitoring basic platform functionality and reporting issues for resolution.
4.0 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
a) Recent graduate (past six years) in Information Technology, Web Design, Graphic
Design, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field from a recognized
Higher Education Institution

b) Knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva) and
web technologies (Python, PHP, HTML, CSS, CMS platforms).
c) Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools for graphics and moving visuals.
d) Skills in photography and photo editing.
e) Ability to create and edit moving graphics and short animations.
f) Good communication skills and attention to detail.
g) Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with supervisors and
team members.
5.0 DURATION OF INTERNSHIP
The internship is for an initial period of six (6) months and will be renewed depending on
performance and NGORA’s operational needs.
6.0 DUTY STATION
The Intern will be based at NGORA Secretariat in Lilongwe, with flexibility to support
digital platforms and organizational activities as needed in the districts
7.0 PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
The Intern is expected to:
a) Keep NGORA’s platforms updated in a timely and visually appealing manner.
b) Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and responsiveness.
c) Work collaboratively with the ICT Officer and CEO’s Office to support high visibility
and accurate communication.
d) Apply creative skills, including graphics, moving visuals, and photography, to
improve content quality.
