ENFORCEMENT OF MANDATORY PARTNERSHIPS BETWEEN INTERNATIONAL AND LOCAL NGOS

The NGO Regulatory Authority (NGORA) wishes to inform the International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs) and Local Non- Governmental Organizations (LNGOs) that pursuant to Provisions 5-12 of the Operations of INGOs Regulations, 2024, it will commence full enforcement of mandatory partnerships between INGOs and LNGOs in the month of May 2026. Such partnerships requirements are within the broader ambit of localization agenda.

Currently, NGORA has developed a road-map for full enforcement of mandatory partnerships which will be shared in due course with all stakeholders. Meanwhile, a series of sensitization and engagement meetings with different stakeholders will take-off in the final week of March 2026 in preparation for the commencement of full enforcement. Both International and Local LNGOs will be notified of the engagement meetings once logistical aspects have been put in place. NGORA remains committed to full actualization of localization agenda
