The NGO Board of Malawi held the first consultative meeting with International Non-Governmental Organization on October 29, 2020 at BICC in Lilongwe. The Objective was to generate recommendations that will be consolidated and submitted to the Ministry of Justice to be fed into the development of subsidiary regulations that will enhance partnerships between International Non-Governmental Organizations and Local Non-Governmental Organizations.

The meeting was presided over by Ronald Mtonga, Executive Director for Council for Non-Governmental Organization (CONGOMA), an umbrella body of all NGOs in Malawi with the mandate to coordinate and represent the collective interests and concerns of the NGOs. In his remarks, Mtonga noted that regulation is the route to take in ensuring partnerships between INGOs and LNGOs that will nurture the NGO Sector.
