Urgent Reminder For NGOs To Submit 2023/24 Financial Year Annual Reports and Renew Operating Licenses by 30th June 2025
The NGO Regulatory Authority (NGORA) would like to remind all registered Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Malawi of their statutory obligation to comply with the reporting requirements outlined under Section 22(a) of the NGO Act (2001) and Section 2 of the NGO Reporting Regulations. In accordance with the law, all NGOs are required to submit their audited financial reports and technical reports for the year 2024 to the NGO Regulatory Authority no later than 30th June 2025. These reports serve not only to satisfy legal compliance but also play a critical role in informing Government, development partners, and other stakeholders about the contributions of the NGO sector to Malawi’s national development agenda, Malawi 2063 (MW2063). The information provided feeds directly into the Annual NGO Sector Reports, which profile the sector’s achievements, challenges, and impact across the country. NGORA also reminds all NGOs that operating with a valid license is a legal requirement under section 8 of the fees regulations. NGOs that have not yet renewed their annual operating licenses for 2025 are urged to do so without delay.
NGORA remains committed to fostering a transparent, accountable, and effective NGO sector that aligns with national priorities and contributes meaningfully to sustainable development. We encourage all NGOs to act promptly in meeting these statutory obligations.
