TNM has sponsored NGORA’S NGO Accountability Conference which will be held on 28 and 29September 2023 with 5million kwacha.
Making the donation TNM Director of Business Services Tawina Dzungu, said the NGO sector is one of the biggest sectors that contribute to the country’s development and hence, TNM saw the need to support to conference.
“Development of any economy centers on contributions from different sectors which the NGO sector is the key agent for growth. This has motivated TNM to partner with the regulatory body for this year’s lakeshore conference,” she said.
She added that as a telecommunications company they are keen to play a role to ensure the sustainability of the NGO sector and add value to its status as the strategic catalyst towards digitalization and economic growth.
Receiving the donation NGORA Board Chairperson, Shadreck Malenga, thanked TNM for the support. He said the support will go a long way to help NGORA prepare for the conference as it is crucial for NGOs to learn issues of governance and emerging trends such as climate change for a better Malawi.
He added that the conference will provide an opportunity to various stakeholders to interact with both sides of the NGO sector including donors.
This year’s NGO Accountability Conference will be held under the theme 21st Century Boardroom Dynamics: Repositioning the Accountability of NGOs.
